Night Projection | Gilles Conan, Chromosomes

A large-scale projection at Forum Groningen (Nieuwe Markt 1) on Saturday, 8th November, 6-8pm. The artwork « Chromosome » is a self-portrait of the halogen lamp, projected from a modified theatre spotlight. It generates the actual figure of a light bulb mounted inside via a reflector, as an ‘inverted camera obscura’. This projection (650w) includes simple equipment and appreciates light-saving modes within the venue. As a homage as well as poetic reflections on halogen lamps in history, plus ephemeral human life, it can illuminate the path in which low-energy consumption encourages energy transition in future.
